Fashion Illustration Course
6th September 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 20th September 2018 @ 9:00 pm| £55
Thursday Evenings 6/13/20th Sep 2018 7pm-9pm
Three week course to create and develop skills in transforming and illustrating the human form in a fashion/textiles context.
Join us on this three week course (set over consecutive Thursday evenings) to learn how to develop your skills in fashion illustration taught by textile designer and lecturer Faye Hall.
Fashion illustration is a different angle of drawing the human form, with more of a focus on creating interesting shapes, using colour and pattern, and transforming areas of the body to create interesting silhouettes.
The course involves a sequence of fun and creative drawing tasks to enable you to eventually translate the human form in a new way, and to be able to approach the body in a more illustrative style. It is also a really excellent way to translate and contextualise your own designs (for example of you make your own fabrics/accessories/clothes), or find new uses for textiles/artefacts that you just have in the house and love.
The classes will be run in the evening (7-9pm) in the gorgeous Spinning Mill Studios so we will be able to enjoy that amazing late summer light.
Paper/easels/paint and brushes will be provided but you will need to bring your own scissors/glue/pens/ flat paint brush (around 1.5cm width- you can pick them up cheaply from places like The Works/eBay). You will also need to bring in collage materials such as old magazines/newspapers/photographs- anything goes!
