Over 40 people turned out to see the unveiling of a handsome red plaque at Sunny Bank Mills by Pudsey Civic Society. The Society have now placed 6 plaques around Farsley, Calverley and Pudsey to celebrate the area’s history. It is a great honour for the mill and a fitting tribute to all the generations of Farsley inhabitants who worked here.
The handsome red plaque now sits proudly adjacent to the main mill gates and is a timely reminder of the history of the site amongst all the regeneration works that have been going on over the last 2 years. As Ruth Strong, President of Pudsey Civic Society said. ” It is fitting that the mills, which once provided employment for hundreds of local people, are once again at the heart of the local economy”
