Murat’s art defies the big freeze

The first show of the 2013 season at the Sunny Bank Mills Gallery was recently kicked off in champagne style despite the snow! Art lovers thoroughly enjoyed the great atmosphere, live music and chat whilst absorbing Murat’s unique photographic style. Murat invited the guests to “follow his routes through the foreign and yet already familiar city topographies into hitherto unchartered realms of imagination, ideas, feelings and experience” He added “The exhibition is a great success and I am thrilled. To see people coming out in snow blizzard conditions, to support me and see my latest collection of photographs, is hugely touching.” Another quest commented” The work is beautiful. I don’t normally look at images of buildings but the way you have transformed them and married them with people is stunning. The Spires bend like comb teeth. A flash of red like the blood and guts of the towers and skyscrapers. The city lives and breathes. Beautiful.” The exhibition is open to the public until 12th April. 10-4pm Mon-fri and Saturdays 11-4pm. Just press the top buzzer!
