Join Niki Hampson of Pulpitations in the Spinning Mill Studios for an experimental, fun and therapeutic day exploring the art of papermaking, using different pulps to make beautiful sheets of decorative and textured handmade paper.
Papermaking artist Niki will share her knowledge and passion for this traditional craft and her love of nature and recycling. Participants will explore an array of techniques, incorporating a variety of plant materials, yarns, recycled waste items and decorative bits, to make sheets of paper for bookmaking, cards, tealights and other creative uses. Samples of Niki’s artwork will illustrate how these finished papers may be developed at home.
Saturday 4th April 10.00am – 4.00pm. This workshop is suitable for beginners, both adults and young people 11+ as well as those with some experience.
All materials, equipment and refreshments will be provided.
Papermaking kits and frames will be available to purchase.
To bring: A packed lunch & an apron or hand towel.
