Loom Skills Days: How to Make a Warp
30th April 2020 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm| £95
How to warp up your loom!
Skill based days
These workshops are aimed at those who may already have some beginner weaving knowledge and would like to expand their skills base, or those who would like a refresher on a technical aspect of weaving. You will not go home with an item, but rather knowledge, skills and confidence to create your own warps and cloth in the future.
How to make a warp, for people interested in learning how to weave on one of our looms!
This day is solely devoted to how to create a warp and how this is then put onto a loom and threaded up before you are able to begin weaving. You will be guided through designing a warp, selecting appropriate yarns, before then making a warp and practicing putting this onto a loom and threading it up. You may get some time at the end of the day to weave a few samples, though this is not guaranteed.
Thursday 30th April 10am – 4pm
Times: 10:00 – 16:00
Price: £95 per person (including tea, coffee and home-made cake). Additional yarn will be available to purchase on site if you get that far!
Please bring your own packed lunch (or pop out to the Mill Kitchen or Grumpy’s – just round the corner)
